Abstract
When attempting to scan patient’s insurance cards or ID in ECW the user is either prompted with scanner not connected or the scan ID card button is grayed out.

Body
- Access admin account
- Search activation in the start menu and open the program
-Click the blue text “Activation File” which will open file explorer and delete the old activation file
- On the accuant website, use the spreadsheet to search the accuant key and deactivate it
- Open device manager and disable all network adapters except the one the computer is using (either wifi or ethernet)
- Navigate to control panel > uninstall programs
- Uninstall Paperstream IP, fi Series web API, Fujitsu Scanner Control Runtime, Scanner Central Admin Agent, acufill sdk, ECW plugin and Software Operational Panel
- Restart may be required
- Run the fiWebAPI140 installer
- Run the paperstream installer
-Run the sdk setup and select the following:
*Every other box should not be checked*
-Use the accuant key in the activation exe
-Reinstall ECW
-Login to the center account
- Run ECW as admin, select menu, search devices configuration and open it, select non-medical devices, then mediscan on the sidebar, click twain options, twain activation, select the Paperstream scanner which should say machine is activated in green, click ok then save
- Logout of ECW, then close and reopen it to test
